The Use of Guided Writing Strategies to Improve Students' Writing Skills at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Riyadlusshibyan Lendang Re

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Guided Writing strategy in improving the Arabic writing skills of students at MTs. Riyadlusshibyan Lendangre, West Lombok. This research employed a quantitative experimental method using a Pre-Experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 15 eighth-grade students. Data were collected through pretest and posttest and analyzed using the Paired Sample t-Test and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the Guided Writing strategy was effective in improving students’ Arabic writing skills. Based on the Paired Sample t-Test, the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) was 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that H₀ was rejected and Ha was accepted. In addition, the N-Gain analysis obtained a score of 0.6371 or 63.71%, which was categorized as moderate-high (fairly effective). The improvement in students’ writing skills was reflected in the more appropriate use of Arabic vocabulary, sentence construction according to nahwu and sharaf rules, and the development of ideas in a more coherent and systematic manner. The Guided Writing strategy assisted students through text examples, writing outlines, vocabulary and grammar guidance, as well as feedback during the writing process. Therefore, the Guided Writing strategy is effective in kitābah muwajjahah learning to improve students’ Arabic writing skills.
