Abstract

The integration of innovative teaching methods in Arabic language learning has become a significant area of research, particularly in primary education settings. This study aims to examine the implementation of the singing method to enhance Arabic language acquisition among students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Lima Puluh Kota. The singing method, which incorporates melody and rhythm into vocabulary and sentence learning, is expected to increase student engagement, retention, and linguistic competence. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests administered to 60 students across three grade levels, complemented by classroom observation and teacher questionnaires. Statistical analysis using paired sample t-tests and correlation analysis revealed that students exposed to the singing method demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in vocabulary retention, pronunciation accuracy, and overall language proficiency compared to conventional teaching methods. Moreover, the findings indicate that the singing method fosters a positive learning environment, motivating students to participate actively in Arabic language activities. This research contributes to the pedagogical understanding of music-assisted language learning, highlighting practical implications for curriculum design, teacher training, and instructional strategies in Islamic primary education. The study also underscores the importance of incorporating culturally relevant and enjoyable approaches in language pedagogy, ensuring both cognitive and affective development of learners. In conclusion, the singing method represents an effective, engaging, and replicable strategy to improve Arabic language learning outcomes in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah settings.
