Abstract

This study aims to examine the internalization of Islamic values within Minangkabau culture among the younger generation in the digital era. The rapid development of information technology has created both challenges and opportunities in preserving religious and cultural values. This research employed a qualitative approach focusing on social phenomena occurring in society. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed descriptively to interpret the meaning of the findings. The results indicate that the internalization of Islamic values occurs through the roles of family, educational institutions, society, and digital media as a new space for interaction. Families serve as the primary foundation for character building through habituation and role modeling, while educational institutions strengthen values through the learning process. Society maintains cultural traditions aligned with Islamic teachings, and digital media contributes to the dissemination of religious values despite challenges from inappropriate information exposure. The novelty of this research lies in its emphasis on the interaction between Islamic cultural values and digital transformation among Minangkabau youth. This study implies that continuous collaboration among families, schools, communities, and digital platforms is essential to maintain the relevance of Islamic values in the era of globalization.
